Cost Accountant Section Head

Job Description:
  • Analyzes and costs manufacturing work orders following company’s costing system. • Prepares the monthly cost of sales figures by analyzing material, labor, and expenses. • Assists the accounting manager in preparing monthly journal entries for cost of sales and scrap. • Maintains inventory system and follows established valuation method. • Assists in the quarterly and year-end physical inventory process. • Reviews and audits the costing system including costs for purchased material inventory. • Analyzes variances from cost estimates. • Prepares report for accounting manager and recommends changes.
  • Analyze financial information and prepare financial reports to determine or maintain record of assets, liabilities, profit and loss or other financial activities within an organization. Accumulate and analysis of cost information for internal use to aid management in planning, control, and decision making. Prepare, examine, and analyze accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards. Analyze business operations, trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations, to project future revenues and expenses or to provide advice. Report to management regarding the finances of establishment. Establish tables of accounts, and assign entries to proper accounts. Develop, maintain, and analyze budgets, preparing periodic reports that compare budgeted costs to actual costs. Develop, implement, modify, and document record keeping and accounting systems, making use of current computer technology. Provide internal and external auditing services for businesses and individuals. Participate in making strategic tactical and operation decision and helping to coordinate the effects of the organization.
  • Conduct periodic cost studies to develop standard cost of products manufactured •Apply cost accounting principles to provide detailed cost information not supplied by the general accounting systems •Monitor inventory control processes to validate inventory accuracy •Work with Supply Chain to analyze Obsolete and Excess inventory reserve requirements •Input approved pending costs, perform cost rollup and activate costs beginning of new fiscal year *Assists in the quarterly and year-end physical inventory process *Reviews and audits the costing system including costs for purchased material inventory* Prepares report for accounting manager and recommends cost-effective solutions.
  • Prepares periodical information and reports about the profitability of each activity - Audits stock transactions. - studies about product’s cost behavior and participate in the cost reduction process to achieve optimal profitability. - Cost analysis and forecasting. - Revenue analysis
